The World
The world from another perspective: Collaborative project with Solenza Lazar

The photographs were taken at MARSA, an industrial zone in the area of Sibiu in Romania. Founded in 1939, MARSA developed strongly in the 1960s to become the 1st industrial zone in Romania, producing semi-trailers, trailers for trucks, military vehicles and tanks. Then, a real city with housing for workers, schools, health services, shops, cinema, performance hall, sports facilities was built. After the fall of the communist regime in 1997, companies started to go bankrupt, closing their factories and the area gradually depopulated to become what it is today, a ghost town, extremely polluted, abandoned and where Nature gradually takes over by invading buildings and roads.

The objective of this photographic / ink / collage project is threefold:
- testify to the destructive madness of human being
- give hope when we see that Nature takes back its rights
- create beauty from ugliness and decadence.
